Tuesday wasn't a particularly eventful day. We got up early to drive my mom and my aunt Laura back to LAX for their flight back to Boston. Since their flight was at around 11:30, we wanted to leave about 3 hours ahead of time, in case we hit rush hour traffic. Of course we didn't leave until about 8:50....my fault..... But fortunately we didn't really hit a ton of traffic, and were able to get to the airport at around 9:30 or so. Pretty easy getting in and finding the right terminal, etc. we said our tearful goodbyes, and then headed back to Burbank. Unfortunately the traffic going back wasn't quite as smooth as on the way down, c'est la vie.
Not sure if I've mentioned that part of the reason I'm out here right now is that I'm looking for a job. I love it out here, and would love to spend an extended period of time here. Maybe not permanently, but a little while anyway. Not to mention some of my best friends are out here now as well. Over the past 7 months I've been doing marketing work for the nearby hospital, which has been a great and fulfilling experience. This afternoon I decided to look into what sort of opportunities I might be able to find in health care marketing out here. Yeah, I know it's not exciting, but it's what I did today.
So I mapped out about 10 hospitals, printed out a bunch of resumes, and headed out. What I generally found is that these hospitals typically want people to apply for jobs online, and some of them didn't even have marketing/communications/PR departments! At the time, I felt like I was wasting my time, but then decided it was probably a good experience if anything just to learn how these places go about their business. I only ended up going to about half of the hospitals on my list just because it took a long time to get to a lot of them, and then to find HR/marketing departments.
So after visiting a bunch of these places, I headed back to Bur to the bank and chilled for the evening. Watched the House episode I missed from the previous night, watched some stuff on Netflix streaming, but overall wasn't a particularly eventful evening.....
