Day 11

So today I got up a little later than usual, but its not like I was in bed all morning, in fact, I actually spent a few hours looking for and applying for jobs. I have found that applying for jobs online doesn't seem to work very often, or at all in my case for that matter, but I guess you gotta start somewhere...

So we tried to figure out what to do with ourselves for the day, and Krysta found out that the Walt Disney Concert Hall downtown had free self guided tours, so we said "why not?" and decided to go do that. We picked up William along the way and headed south into LA. My more recent trips to SoCal have been primarily based in Hollywood and the surrounding areas, so I don't know a whole lot about the downtown area. Since it was around noon, there was very little traffic heading into the city, which was nice. We arrived at the hall and parked, then headed up the escalators (I don't want to go up too many stairs with this foot) to the lobby. So we got out talking wand things called "tour mates" and started walking around.

Unfortunately, they don't actually let you in to the concert hall itself, rather you just kind of walk around the building and John Lithgow tells you about it via the tour mate. The architecture was really impressive, the place is covered in stainless steel, and it had a very unorthodox shape, making it really interesting to look at. A lot of the tour was outside, which gave us some really good views of the city, at one point, if you looked forward, you could see Dodger Stadium in the distance, and to the left you could see the Hollywood sign. It also meant we were open to the elements, and unfortunately for William, a bird decided to relieve itself as it was passing over him...

From there we headed to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels, which was right around the corner. Again, a really impressive looking place with great architecture. We didn't stay there too long, as it was $4 to park for every 15 minutes you were there. Afterwards we dropped by Burger King and had a late lunch. After consuming the fast food, which is something I usually try to avoid but I was pretty hungry, we headed back towards Burbank. We dropped William off at his apartment, and then went back to our hotel.

A little while later I went over to Supercuts and had them try to make my hair look a little better haha. Its still on the longer side, but they trimmed it a bit, layered it and thinned it out so that it doesn't go all over the place and looks half-decent now. Afterwards we pretty much just stayed in the room, I continued to do some online job hunting and networking, in hopes that I can maybe actually meet some people that might be able to help me out while I'm still out here.....
